We're on a mission to eliminate the friction between developer productivity and corporate oversight. Too often, technical teams are slowed down by bureaucracy, manual provisioning, and unclear spending—while finance teams struggle with visibility into tool costs and ROI.
Bulbkit bridges this gap. We give developers the autonomy to access the tools they need instantly, while giving managers real-time insights into spending, utilization, and team growth.
Our founders experienced the same frustration at multiple tech companies: developers waiting days for tool access, finance teams discovering surprise bills, and IT departments drowning in repetitive provisioning tasks. As teams scaled, these problems only got worse.
We realized that the best developer experience tools (like CLI interfaces and Infrastructure as Code) could be applied to internal tooling management. Why couldn't requesting a license be as simple as running a command? Why couldn't budget visibility be as transparent as a Grafana dashboard?
In 2023, we built the first version of Bulbkit for ourselves. A CLI-first approach to tool management, with automated provisioning, real-time cost tracking, and integrated learning resources. What started as an internal tool quickly became something our peers were asking to use.
